RURAL RESIDENTIAL
Ranches and homes outside city limits are billed 6.44 cents per kWh and a $15.00 service charge. Demand charges are included in kWh charges. Customers receive monthly billing based on average annual usage. Meters are read 4 times per year.

VILLAGE RESIDENTIAL
Homes within city limits are billed 6.69 cents per kWh and a $13.25 service charge. Demand charges are included in kWh charges. Meters are read monthly.

SEASONAL RESIDENTIAL
Service to residences, which are occupied seasonally for less than 9 months per year are, billed 6.44 cents per kWh. Demand charges are included in kWh charges. Annual service charge is $100.00 and is billed in February. Meters are read annually and usage is billed in September.

IRRIGATION
Irrigation pumps, three phase or single phase, are billed 4.97 Cents per kWh, and a $300.00 annual service charge. Demand charges are $5.00 per kW of monthly billing demand. Meters are read monthly during irrigation season.

SMALL POWER
Commercial and non-residential small power service for load requirements which do not exceed 49 kva of transformer capacity are 5.76 cents per kWh and a $17.50 monthly service charge. Demand charges are included in kWh charges. Meters are read monthly.

LARGE POWER
Accounts requiring 50 - 999 kva of transformer capacity are billed 4.97 cents per kWh and a $25.00 monthly service charge. Demand charges are $5.00 per average kW of the 30 minute period of maximum use during the preceding month. Meters are read monthly.

INDUSTRIAL POWER
Accounts requiring 1000 - 5000 kva of transformer capacity are billed 4.19 cents per kWh charge. $500.00 monthly service charge. Demand charge is $5.00 per average kW of the 60 minute period of maximum use during the preceding month. Meters are read Monthly.

Wells Propane Inc services the Carlin area. Set-up costs are $320.00, which included underground line, trenching, regulator hook-up, labor, 250-gallon tank and 200 gallons of fuel. Residence must either deposit $150.00 or have a good credit check for service. Gas cost depends on usage. NOTE: Tank rental per year is $45.00 with the first year provided free. Service for businesses is the same cost, as residences with tanks offered to 1,000 gallons and no deposit required.

Frontier Telephone Company serves the Carlin area. Activation is $46.00 per line. Deposit is based on two (02) months basic service. Labor is $70.00 for the first thirty minutes and $17.50 for each 15 minutes thereafter. Basic service for one line is $29.90 per month.

SANITATION/LANDFILL

The City of Carlin has an exclusive franchise with Elko Sanitation to supply curbside trash pick-up. Elko Sanitation charges a residential rate of $115.80 a year. Upon advanced notice, Elko Sanitation will pick-up large items i.e., appliances, furniture, washer/dryers, etc…

NOTE: Freezers, refrigerators and air conditioners must have the Freon removed and be tagged as such.

The Landfill is owned and operated by the City of Elko. It is located approximately 23 miles from Carlin. Residences of Carlin are charged an annual fee of $76.80 for contributions through weekly curbside pick-up. The landfill is open six days a weeks, Monday – Saturday.

WATER/SEWER

The City of Carlin operates and maintains its own water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems. These systems are presently in place in most of the developed portions of the City. The City has expanded its services to serve the UNR Fire/Science Academy by constructing a 3.8 mile line extension.

The water bill is $27.00 a month and is based on a flat rate, which is not metered.

The City of Carlin fees for the installation of a ¾" water service line and a 4" sanitary sewer line to serve a single family residential dwellings are as follows:
